About ora South Africa
South Africa is located on the southern tip of the African continent, a nation with a population of nearly 45 million people and 11 official languages. A nation rich with mineral wealth and beauty and a European infrastructure. However, due to the era of Apartheid until April 1994, also a nation poor in education and medical health facilities. Poverty is widespread among the population in the rural areas of South Africa. South Africa celebrates its 10th year of democracy on the 27th of April 2004, an achievement reached through true reconciliation of black and white by means of democracy. Dr Nelson Mandela was the first free elected president of South Africa in 1994. With President Thabo Mbeki the road to an African renaissance is now moving forward to make South Africa a leading nation once again, not only on the African continent but also beyond.
